The deformed SW margin of the Oval Peak pluton, underlying Twisp Valley Schist, Battle Mountain and Tuckaway Lake units, and highly foliated part of the Lake Juanita unit together constitute the Gabriel Peak tectonic belt, a high strain zone which extends northwestward for -60 Ian (Section III; Figures 5, 6)).
